The Storage management module helps the users optimize inventory control, ensuring that the right items are available at the right time and place. It contributes to efficient logistics, reduces the risk of shortages, and enhances safety and operational readiness in maritime and logistics operations. By providing efficient item management capabilities, this module helps vessels maintain control over their inventory.
Article number
A unique identifier or code assigned to each stored item, facilitating quick and accurate identification within the inventory.
Product name
The name or title of the stored item, providing a clear and descriptive label for easy recognition.
Component
Indicates whether the item is connected to a component of a larger system, helping to manage and track essential parts. To properly use this feature, you need to have the "Maintenance" module set up and populated with various components.
Current quantity
The current quantity or amount of the item available in inventory, providing real-time information about stock levels.
Quantity type
Specifies the unit of measurement or quantity type used to quantify the item. The list of available quantity types can be pre-defined, or adjusted in "Admin Settings - Quanitity Types".
Critical / Chemical
Indicates whether the inventory part is deemed critical to operations or safety.
Indicates whether the inventory part has a chemical element to it (hazardous).
Status
Represents the current condition or availability of the item (e.g., available, under minimum, under threshold).
Detailed view
The detailed view of an individual storage part within the Storage module offers a structured representation of a specific part, providing information and various options related to that particular part. This view allows for an in-depth examination of the part's details and associated actions. When you access the detailed view of an individual part of the storage, it provides additional options and information about the part.
These options are:
Product Category
Specifies the category or type to which the storage part belongs, helping to categorize and organize items for easy retrieval and management.
Placement
Indicates the specific location or position within the storage area where the part is stored, aiding in efficient item retrieval and inventory control.
Description
Provides additional details, specifications, or information about the storage part, offering clarity on its characteristics and purpose.
Threshold quantity
Denotes the quantity at which the part reaches a defined threshold, serving as an alert or notification for inventory management when stock levels are low.
Minimum quantity
Represents the lowest quantity the storage part should not go below to keep everything running smoothly.
Stock-tab
The "Stock"-tab is a dedicated section within the storage system that provides a comprehensive record of all changes made to individual part. It offers a chronological account of updates, modifications, and relevant information related to the specific part. This log offers a detailed insight into the evolution of the storage item within the system, including usage records and complete quantity updates. Each event will also display the individual user who is responsible for that particular change.
Use of product
To utilize a specific part, access the desired storage item and click on the "Use" button located in the top right corner. A pop-up window will then appear, prompting you to enter the quantity used and provide the reason for using the part:
