Running Hour Import allows bulk updating of running hour counters by importing data files directly into CCOMX.
The feature supports import files from both MCS (v2) and Høglund, making it possible to update multiple counters simultaneously with a single upload.
This is especially useful for vessels with a large number of running hour counters, significantly reducing manual work and the risk of incorrect entries.
Enabling the Function
The function needs to be enabled per department under:
Admin Settings → Departments
Setting Up Import References
To allow CCOMX to identify which counter should be updated from the import file, an Import Reference must be configured for each relevant running hour counter.
This setup only needs to be completed once. Future imports will then be matched automatically based on the configured references.
Example
Import references are typically found in the data file itself.
Example:
BS_ME_HOUR
In this example, BS_ME_HOUR is the import reference for the Main Engine running hour counter.
Below you can see the import reference field in CCOMX, this needs to be set for the import to succeed.
Importing a Data File

The user performing the import must have the “Import” privilege for Run Time. Please contact your system administrator if you need this privilege assigned to your user.
Once the function has been enabled and the import references have been configured, the Import button will become available under Run Time module.
- Open Run Time
- Click Import
- Upload the relevant data file
(for example RUNHOURS1.dat from MCS) - CCOMX will automatically update all running hour counters with matching import references found in the file
Import Result
All running hour counters with valid import references will automatically be updated according to the values found in the imported file.
At the time of writing, the following formats are supported:
