Tips and Troubleshooting

  1. If a menu option does not appear as described in this guide, the browser and operating system should be updated to a supported version.
  2. On iOS and Mac, Safari is recommended when the goal is to add a web app to the Home Screen. It often provides better formatting than Chrome, although Chrome may be easier to install.
  3. Menu labels and the placement of functions may vary slightly between language versions, browser editions, and device manufacturers.
  4. If a website cannot be installed as a standalone app, it may in several cases be created as a shortcut that opens in a separate window.
