If trip based crew management is configured for the selected department, you will now see a list of already-created trips when you go to the "Shift And Manning" area.
Important differences from activity based crew management and previous versions:
- Embarkment and disembarkment (confirming on and signing off) is automatic. As long as a user is part of an active trip, this user is signed/confirmed on for the time duration set for this user. (If the trip is set to "Inactive" at the planning stage, it has to be set to "Active" at the start of the trip.)
- The option to retrieve SafeSeaNet reports has now been moved to the "Reports" button at the top right (select SafeSeaNet as the report type).
Trip list
You can select which types of trips to show/filtered on above the list by selecting the status ("All", "Active", "Inactive", or "Completed") or use the search function to find a specific trip in the trip history/plan. It's also possible to sort the list by trip name, description, crew (size), from date (start), to date (end), or status.

Only 1 trip may be set as the active trip at any given time. If you want to set another trip as active, you'll first need to make sure no other trips have been set as active.
You may create a new trip by clicking the "Add New Trip" button, or manage an existing trip by selecting it from the list.

Competence Matrix
This section allows you to build a competence matrix for a selected trip. This is to ensure the right competence is in place for the trip.
Unassigned Planned Activities
This section shows a list of users that have yet to be assigned a future trip or activity, but are still employed or have access to the selected department/vessel.
This allows crew managers (or employees with similar responsibilities) to see who may be available for future trips.
Reports
This button in the top right corner is used to export data into the following report types:
- Travel List
- IMO Crew List
- Crew List
- Total Sailing Time
- SafeSeaNet
The export format may be either an Excel file (e.g. for import into other systems/reports) or a PDF file (e.g. for printing/archiving), and is created for the selected date or date range (depending on the report type).
Broadly speaking, this is the same functionality as printing reports known from activity based crew management, in this case related to a specific trip, rather than a specific activity.
