Read Receipts

Read Receipts are a log function that enables us to document and follow up who has read a document.
This feature makes it easier to see if the crew has read the necessary documentation and present it to external customers and autorities.

Read Receipts are enabled on each department/vessel separately

Read Receipts offer the following functions:

Append Recipients
Enables you to define who will be affected by a read receipt
Delete read receipt
Enables you to delete an existing read receipt
Cancel read receipt request
Option to remove a user from a read receipt list
Overview of users affected by read receipt
The Read Receipts page provides an overview over all users affected as well as definitions of what Departments, Job Positions, Job Position Groups and Roles have been assigned the receipt
User count
A counter to easily see how many of the assigned users have read the defined document

How to use Read Receipts

When Read Receipts are enabled we will be met with a new button on the Documents page.


To assign a user a read receipt you have 3 options.
  1. You can assign it when saving the document and increasing the revision number.
  2. Assign upon creation of a new document
  3. Assign from a revision
You can see an example of this below, when we create a new document:



When a user has been assigned a read receipt they will get a pop-up in their Dashboard to easily navigate to and read the document.

How to enable Read Receipts

To enable Read Receipts we must first navigate to the settings page for documents. We will navigate as shown below:
Admin Settings → Document → Settings → Read Receipts



To enable the function we select Edit and click on "Enable read receipts for the current department"

When the Read Receipt function is enabled on a department, a log will be kept as to whom enabled the funtion.

By navigating into the menu structure we can assign a read receipt to a user by selecting the Append recipients button.
Here we will be able to select the job positions and departments we want this receipt to affect.
Looking further down the page we can see the assigned users and their status, as well as removing any users we don't want to get the read requirement.


Read Receipts on User Profiles

On the Profile page each user can check their Read Receipts shown as a log of all assigned and read read receipts

These can also be found in through the Users & Pax page in admin settings.

The page gives an overview of your allocated documents to read and makes it easy to check and follow up on document updates.
This helps the crew stay within compliance standards and makes audits easier to perform.
The overview saves time by simplifying the verification process and reduces manual follow-ups.


Filters for Read Receipts

Read Receipts offers filter options to simplify auditing of compliance in adherence to company policies.
These can be set for the overview to narrow the search criteria and simplify the view to only show what is relevant to us.
